Getting to Know Your Classes
|Tai-Yo is a fusion of two ancient practices, Chinese Tia Chi an Indian yoga. Tai-Yo helps to improve your concentration, focus, balance, coordination, strength and flexibility though the practice of Yang style short/long form, yoga flow series and static poses.|
Meet Our StaffMelissaMelissa has been a group fitness instructor since the early 1990s and has taught classes such as aerobics, step aerobics, and aero-boxing. She also has dabbled with many forms of dance, including tap, ballet, and hip hop. Her current passion, however, is the international Latin-inspired dance fitness program known as Zumba. The Zumba program combines her love for fitness and dance all into one fun-filled hour of movement. Melissa teaches Zumba Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-7:00 PM and Saturday mornings from 10-11:00 AM. Any one at any fitness level can take a Zumba class and benefit from it...no experience required.
A year and a half ago, I decided to do something about my increasing weight and overall fitness. So, through nutritional eating and joining Chambersburg Fitness Center for my physical activities, I was able to achieve my body fat and weight loss goals. My workouts at C.F.C. were instrumental in my fat burning and muscle building plan, helping me to become physically fit. Thru the various classes and equipment offered at C.F.C. to work with, I am now lean, strong, and have confidence in myself.Rodney Small, PA
If you have the desire to change your body, health, and the way you feel about yourself, then joining C.F.C is a good play to start. It worked for me.
In 2004 I was diagnosed with osteopenia and my doctor prescribed medicine taken weekly. In 2008 after discussion with my physician I stopped taking the medicine due to possible worse side effects. While on the meds my bone density tests improved very little. After not taking meds my test remained the same, didn't change. In 2011 I started going to stretch class on Tues. and Thurs. morning. In October 2011 my bone density showed my hip stayed the same, however, my spine improved and my height has improved by 1/4 inch.I credit this improvement to the stretch class which is also enjoyable. My doctor told me to continue going to class whenever possible. Thank you Chris Anne for a great class.Cecile West, PA
